Sabine & Matt
We wish to have an informal but memorable time away with our closest European friends to celebrate our love. We hope you can join us
Join us for a long weekend away filled with sunshine, swimming, good food and good times.
When
Thursday, August 29 - Monday, September 2 2024
BORGO DI PIANCIANO
Location
A presto.
Details
So is this a wedding?
No, this is not our official wedding. We will be getting married in Australia officially, joined by close family. We felt uncomfortable asking everyone to fly to the other side of the world - so .. why not have a European party instead? This is our long weekend away doing exactly that!

What’s the sleeping arrangement?
“The borgo” includes 4 houses which can accommodate from 2 to 27 people (Casa dell’Arco, Casa del Cipresso, Casa della Roccia and Casa del Melograno) and the Sala Alceo, a common space of 80 square meters.
All houses are fully equipped with Kitchens, large living rooms, BBQs, linen etc.
We will split everyone who can attend into groups and allocate rooms within the houses.
All adults will have their own room (1x couple) and kids older than 3 will have their own rooms (ie. If you have two kids - they will have 1 room to share).
Examples:
1 couple = 1 room.
1 individual = 1 room
1 couple, 2 kids = 2 rooms
1 couple & baby (0-2) = 1 room
Please let us know if you have any concern about this!
What’s the plan Stan?
Top priority: Relax & have good time.
We are expecting: 10 kids & 17 adults - there is no hard and fast agenda. We’ve arranged two dinners (optional) which will cater to all adults & kids. Feel free to hang at the Borgo 24/7 or plan day trips according to nap schedules/the weather etc. We will likely plan a few outings/lunches closer to the time.
Thursday: Arrivals, BYO drinks & nibbles. Communal dinner & drinks on the grass
Friday : Pizza Night
Saturday: Informal dinner & Drinks
Sunday : Last night (Plans TBC)
Monday: Departure
What do I wear? Fashun is my pashun…
We’d love for everyone to dress for a little party on Saturday night. No hard dress code - but think Italian summer vibes
ie.. Linen shirts, summer dresses etc. Shoes are optional. #freethetoe.
There is a pool - bring your swimmers!
Babysitters?
Yes, these are available at your own expense at the Borgo. If you’d like a sitter (1 x house or for your child) - we can discuss and arrange them for the group.
Fyi: The houses are all in very close proximity. The communal areas where we’d host dinners & lunch surround the houses. We’ve not had trouble with our baby cam working from the communal spaces in the past.
Where to pick groceries/supplies for the weekend
Spoleto is the largest nearby town with a decent supermarket: CONAD SUPERSTORE - a 10min drive from the Borgo
We want this time to be spent exploring and sharing stories over dinner and wine and not to set a rigid agenda, but here are some ideas for day escapes…

NATURE EXCURSIONS
Pianciano is located within an uncontaminated natural area, recognized as a Site of Community Importance (SIC), within which it is possible to go for simple walks, challenging trekking and mountain bike excursions. In all seasons, along the Spina valley and the parallel Valnerina, you can choose different paths and discover the intact Umbrian landscape, in which ancient paths, ruins of medieval buildings and small abandoned churches follow one another. Encounters with squirrels, hares, wild boars, porcupines, birds of prey and roe deer are frequent; sometimes with wolves, wild cats and badgers.
